With AI-powered development and integrated engineering teams based in Rwanda, supported by the engineering expertise of MaibornWolff. We help companies deliver modern software faster. With experienced software developers, clear quality standards, and seamless collaboration across European time zones.
Ojemba connects outstanding software developers from Rwanda with MaibornWolff’s engineering standards and technological expertise. Our teams work as an integral part of existing development organizations, characterized by clear communication, a high degree of autonomy, and modern, AI-powered development processes. This fosters long-term engineering partnerships that help companies develop digital products faster, more efficiently, and to a high standard of quality. The video provides insights into the idea behind Ojemba and shows what makes working with our teams special.
Our developers work within your existing teams, processes, and tools. Daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and joint planning are all part of the process.
Rwanda facilitates close collaboration without significant time differences. Short decision-making processes ensure quick decisions and efficient delivery.
Regular check-ins, clear responsibilities, and proactive expectation management build trust and make projects easier to plan.
We use modern AI-powered tools wherever they improve quality or save development time—responsibly and with a high standard of technical excellence.
Quality is our top priority. Clean software architecture, code reviews, and established engineering practices are integral to every project.
The combination of strong engineering teams, modern AI tools, and clear processes enables fast and sustainable project results.
With over 900 technology experts, MaibornWolff offers additional expertise in architecture, cloud, AI, and technology for complex projects.
Our teams take responsibility for results, contribute their insights, and actively share their own ideas.
We make targeted investments in the professional development of our developers. Together with our local partner, The Gym, we prepare our teams for international software projects.

The Gym is our local partner for talent development in Kigali. Together, we identify, develop, and support software developers as they transition into international engineering projects. This creates long-term opportunities for talent while ensuring the highest quality standards for our clients.
Ojemba is a kind of "educational traveler". The term comes from the Igbo language. It is composed of two basic words: oje - the one who goes, and mba - nations, countries. Thus, it refers to someone who travels to exotic, distant lands, a traveler. Igbo is spoken mainly in southeastern Nigeria, the homeland of one of our founders, Hugo Obi.
After taking a closer look at some locations, Rwanda seemed to be the best fit for the founders*. Rwanda is a small and safe country. It has a clear strategy to create wealth through education and digitalization. It is the African country with the best Transparency International Index.
The Ojembees are looking forward to every visit from Europe and to a real exchange of experiences. A visit is possible at any time by arrangement - but at your own expense.
Our Ojembees go through a six-month training program in which they are taught not only technical hard skills but also soft skills necessary for the project. Within this curriculum there are several hurdles that guarantee that only the best and most motivated employees start at Ojemba. Through this intensive time we ensure that a real collaboration in mixed teams is created and that tasks are not simply "thrown over the fence".
As soon as our concept is established in Kigali, we will also offer it in other countries south of the Sahara. South Africa, Kenya and Nigeria are currently on the watch list as Anglophone countries.
Short-term stays of team members in Germany for meetings or events are possible, but tend to be the exception due to entry and work regulations.
All ojembees are employed on permanent contracts. They receive a comparatively very good monthly salary and have better social security than the average.
Currently Ojemba offers frontend and backend development according to German software engineering standards. For digital design, testing, security, etc. we work with German and Rwandan partners.
Our Ojembees are ambitious young developers eager to learn. Ojemba provides them with further training on new tech stacks as their careers progress. We also develop custom trainings on demand of our clients.
As for other countries outside the EU, there are GDPR-compliant "best practices" based on the EU's standard contractual clauses and an individual assessment of the project.
The contractual partner is always a German GmbH - either Ojemba GmbH (Hamburg) or MaibornWolff GmbH (Munich). Therefore, there are no uncertainties due to an unknown legal system.
